Dalai Lama: Accept the Fact of 7 Billion Very Different People

When Director Hubertus Hoffmann met with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Hoffmann felt his warmth and friendliness immediately. The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate is the global icon of respect and tolerance. (pictured below Hoffman with the 14th Dalai Lama)

We discussed diversity and the promotion of tolerance twice for the film, LOVE IS TOLERANCE – TOLERANCE IS LOVE, in August 2011 and June 2014.

“Once we accept that 7 billion people are the same human beings. Each of them has different interests and faiths. That’s a human being. We must accept and respect this.

There is one reality: There are 7 billion human beings. Almost each of them, something different.”

There is much to learn from the Buddhist way of harmony and tolerance, the movie tells us:

Love, compassion, and forgiveness should be part of our daily life.

Happiness comes from spiritual qualities such as love of tolerance.

They are not luxuries, but necessities.

Our mind and heart are our temples.

Your good inner attitude and a good heart are very important.

Be polite.

Help others.

Do not harm others.

Practice sympathy and global responsibility.
